Nana’s Night Lights is a non-profit organization based in Westerville that installs outdoor motion-sensor lights on homes.
The organization, started by Columbus Police Officers Amy and Tim Welsh, was featured in Sunday’s Home & Garden section of The Columbus Dispatch. Nana’s Night Lights works with mostly elderly residents of declining neighborhoods by adding motion-sensor lights that help keep the areas safer for the residents.
The group works when it has day-shifts off and can usually do a handful of lights per month. They are a shoe-string operation, with most of the funding coming from Amy and Tim’s pocket. They do have a $1000 electrical grant from Lowe’s to help with the equipment.
According to Mark Ellis‘ article, Amy would like to see this program expand across the nation. And that would be wonderful to see.

Do You Have a Real Estate Question? Ask Toby!
I have a client who needs a motion light detector at back corner of her home and she will soon be alone at nights.
She has contacted you by phone months ago and called you back with no reply.
I am a case manager and she is my clt. Do you continue to help the older population? Thanking you in advance for your response.
Jill,
I am not with Nana’s Night Lights. But if you respond to my e-mail we’ll see what we can get done for you.
Good luck!
Toby
