For those that have been diligent readers, they have seen an evolution in this Sadie’s Take on Delaware Ohio over the past couple of weeks. For a while, this blog had become a bit “technical” and was writing about real estate.
But, that has changed recently. I still write about real estate, but from a perspective that I want to share knowledge with those that are looking to purchase a home and particularly those in the greater Central Ohio area.
I’ve been having a discussion with Bigger Pockets’ Josh Dorkin about this and after reading Teresa Boardman’s 10 Good Men Bloggers for 2007, I realized something needed to be done.
The Real Estate Carnival and the Real Estate Investors Carnival are great, but they tend to be more about “blogging about real estate”. And as I’ve evolved as a real estate agent that blogs, I’m realizing that isn’t the best direction for my career. PlaceBlogger.com is aggregating the content of placebloggers, and now I’m adding a carnival that will focus on those that write for consumers, as opposed to other real estate agents.
Learn more about this new carnival, on its own blog or submit your entry on the Blog Carnival homepage.

Do You Have a Real Estate Question? Ask Toby!
Great idea! So cool a place for real estate content in a real estate carnival. This idea is revolutionary! That is why I sponsor the ten good men bloggers is because there isn’t any awards for such a blog, just rewards in the people we meet and who decide to do business with us. How in the world will you keep all those real estate bloggers out? so that the agnets that blog will want to participate?
Thanks for the kudos. As to how I’m going to keep the others out, I don’t want to “keep anyone out” if some of the great RE-to-RE bloggers do a placeblog post then I’ll gladly include it. I personally, see myself as a bi-blogger. I try to do some educating of my consumers in my blogs, but am trying to give as much Delaware product as possible.
However, if they don’t meet the criteria, then I won’t include them. That’s part of why I’m hosting the first few – to set the tone. I would rather go with 3 posts than to go with a dozen that aren’t on topic.
I’m going to reach out to as many of the placebloggers/consumer-driven bloggers as possible in the next day or so. Hopefully, they’ll by in and we can create an equal blog carnival to the real estate one. We are serving different categories of the public.
I stopped by earlier and should have left you a note. This is a great idea. I’m in!
Toby, This is such a great idea, did Sadie come up with it? We have so much knowledge and information to offer the consumer about our “places.” This is bound to be a hit!
Thanks,
kk
Fantabulous! I’ve tried to keep one on my 2007 Blogolutions be doing more local/consumerish stuff. A couple of wild successes, and a couple of not-even-close ones. But that’s me. It’s a hodgepodge, poorly focused blog, but that’s the way it’s always been, and always will be…
I will definitely be submitting to this Carnival!
Thanks Maurren, Kristal and Jay!
Sadie wants to take credit for it, but really the credit goes to Josh Dorkin. He was intelligent enough to say “he was too busy” and me – being the glutton for punishment I am – stepped up and did it.
I’m excited about this and think it will be a great addition.
St. Paul Real Estate has signed up to be the 2/20 host!
Toby, this is a very interesting idea. One of the reasons I have never joined a Carnival is the consumer content issue. The other reason is intimidation!
But because I have never been involved in one, I’m not sure I understand how they work. Can you give me some guidelines or links to them?
Thanks
Mark,
Thanks for stopping by the consumer-oriented blog post the other day. Like a fool I deleted the e-mail, so thought I’d post here to help out.
Don’t be intimidated by the Carnival. A sample would be the Ohio Blog Carnival, which I posted this morning.
Do you need to change anything to post? Nope. Never.
What should I submit? Whatever you feel is your best post of the past two weeks – that has a consumer-focused theme.
But I’m not a great writer… So? I don’t care how good a writer you are, there is always someone that you think is better. Remember how you thought those “popular kids” had it all together in high school, and later you realized they were just as lost as you? Well this is the same way…
Hope that helps! Have a wonderful weekend and hope to have a submission from the Sparky and Buckwheat show!
Toby
