Community Day at Ohio Wesleyan’s Branch Rickey Arena and Gordon Field Houe was a great event for all those involved.
Toby would estimate there were at least 40 vendors in attendance representing a very-broad range of businesses from the community.
Buffalo Wild Wings had a hot-wing eating contest, of which Toby didn’t take part — but they were nice enough to give him a sample. He said they were good, but then he lit the fireplace with a belch. He calmed his stomach with pastries and coffee from Lynn Hlavin’s The Italianate Circa 1890 bed-and-breakfast and free popcorn courtesy of the Strand Theatre.
Toby represented the Delaware Cows and had the Disbennett Real Estate during the festivities. The meeting was productive for him and Cows’ assistant coach Stew Clinger.
He came home with a lot of goodies, including several pens, a coupon for a free oil change from Oxford Automotive, computer advice from John Wallace’s DelComp Ltd., lots of promotional ideas from JP Promotional Products, a sample of floor cleaner from Floor Crafters Stainmaster Gallery, and lots of great contacts throughout the Delaware community.
It was a great day, and the games sounded great. OWU’s women defeated Wittenberg and the men gave it their best effort but fell to third-ranked Wooster by seven.
