Toby is on the advisory board for the Delaware Cows and we are considering hosting a player this summer, and he was sending this announcement to the local media - so I thought we’d share it here as well.
The Cows are on their way and they need homes!
The Delaware Cows, members of the Great Lakes Sumer Collegiate League, are seeking host families for the 2007 season. Families are asked to host a player from early June through early August.
Benefits of being a host family:
- Season tickets for your entire family
- Host Family Recognition Day
- Photo with Your Player(s)
- Free Registration for Family Members to the Cows’ Baseball Camp
- A Life-long connection with a young baseball player
The Delaware Cows are members of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League and complete a 40-game schedule. The Cows play their home games at Ohio Wesleyan’s Littick Field and are entering its 16th season in 2007. The Cows have had 92 former players sign professional baseball contracts over that span – including current Yankee prospect Matt DeSalvo and former first-round selection John Van Benschoten.
For more information or to volunteer contact housing committee members Irene Baird (363-1474) or Chris Jackson (881-5733).

Toby, this blog looks great. I see you’re using wordpress. I use it for my personal blog as well, but not sure I like it as much as typepad and moveable type. What are your thoughts? Do you have any experience with other platforms?
Well done!

Thanks for stopping by Jeff. I’ve been using WordPress for more than two years on various blogs, and I really like it. I played with typepad once and just didn’t have the time to really learn the program. Have a great day! Toby
