How lucky could I be, the Carnival of Real Estate Investing has arrived at Saide’s Take on Delaware, Ohio and it’s lucky number seven!
There were a lot of great submissions to this issue and I was honored — and perplexed – to have to choose the winner and the top seven entrants.
THE WINNER
T.J. Etherton’s “Finding the Top Secret Flipping Formula” which was posted on The Cashflow Crunchers. While there were a lot of great entries, I kept coming back to T.J.’s analysis and explanation of his formula for investing in real estate. With “flipping” getting a black-eye from those that don’t understand the value of money, it was refreshing to read a conservative and thoughtful analysis of the subject.
THEÂ LUCKY SEVEN
- Trisha Allen’s “Creating Opportunities from Inconvience” on Building An Empire.Â
- Brian Brady’s “Predatory Lending Can Prey on the Responsible” posted on the Bloodhound Blog.
- Jane’s “Do’s and Don’ts for Home Remodeling Projects” posted on Rich Dad Says.
- Joshua Dorkin’s “Advantage of Buying REO Properties” on Real Estate Investing for Real.
- Paul’s “Real Estate Courses and Resources” on Extreme Perspective.
- Nigel Swaby’s “Russ Whitney – Explain Yourself Please” posted on Salt Lake Real Estate Blog. And yes, Mr. Whitney did respond.
- Nina’s “Ten Money Questions For Mark Brand” on Queercents.
Be sure to submit your article for the eighth issue of Carnival of Real Estate Investing which will be on January 22 and hosted by Bigger Pockets.

Thanks for hosting the contest, Toby. I know the carnivals are a lot of work.
People may be unaware of the fact that Toby was a writer in his other life. Mr. Etherton and the “Lucky Seven” should be proud of the fact that thier entries deemed noteworthy by a professional.
Toby,
I really appreciate you hosting this Carnival and voting my article on your top 7. This was my first time submitting to a Carnival. It was a great experience!
Keep up the great work!
Best,
Jane
Jane and Brian,
It was a pleasure to read the submissions. It was very tough to get it down to the eight I wanted to do — couldn’t give up the “Lucky Seven” moniker — which was a lot more cute at midnight last night.
Thanks for the great reads and keep it up!
Toby
P.S. Jane – you’ll get addicted. I did. I’m now in a 12-step Blog Carnival program.
Hi,
Just checking in on the Carnival, I’ll be taking my turn on the 2/12.
It’s been great getting around and seeing all the sites…

Toby,
I know what you mean. I decided to dedicate my weekend on getting the word out about our blog and i don’t think I’ve left my computer for more than 8 hours…I think I may need that program just about now
Wow Toby, thanks so much for hosting the Carnival this week and including my article in with those other great submissions. I am truly honored and now find myself suddenly very excited to write another article! Now I just have to figure out what to write about…
