February 22, 2007 is the annual Habitat for Humanity Soups for Shelter. This is a wonderful fund raiser where the community gathers for a soup dinner in handmade bowls. You get to keep your bowl with the meal and even bid on bowls that are part of an auction. In past years bowls have been made by students from across the county and Ohio Wesleyan. With special “guest” bowl makers in the auction.

“It [the dinner] has evolved into a community event,” saidĀ Marian Homan, a four-year veteran of the annual fundraiser for Delaware County’s Habitat for Humanity chapter, in an issue of Connect2 OWU last year. “It is always amazing to see professors and fraternities getting more involved in the Delaware community.”

Details about this year’s event are still in the planning stages, but the event is a good one to get behind!

Jackie Kuhns (363-9950 or jackie.kuhns@columbus.rr.com) needs hand-made bowls, if you are talented and want to help out.
